MAN MADE VIRAL CONDITIONS
Viral Pathogens-GMO Foods
Genetically engineered products clearly have the potential to be
toxic and a threat to human health. In 1989, a genetically
engineered brand of L-tryptophan, a common dietary supplement,
killed 37 Americans and permanently disabled or afflicted more
than 5,000 others with a painful and potentially fatal blood
disorder, eosinophilia myalgia syndrome (EMS), before it was
recalled by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Only 40% of people in the U.S. know that some of the foods they
are buying and eating are genetically modified (GM), according
to a new survey conducted by the International Food Information
Council (IFIC), an industry group funded by food, beverage and
agricultural industries. Additionally nearly 1 out of 4 people
incorrectly believes that such foods are not being sold in the
United States.
Currently, the use of genetically modified food is a subject of
enormous global controversy. Environmental and consumer groups
have demanded that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
follow the lead of the European Union, Japan and other nations
by requiring labels on GM foods to allow consumers to know what
they are buying. The U.S. government claims that such mandatory
food labels are not necessary because genetically modified food
'poses no inherent safety risk'.
Back in 1992 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration determined
that genetically engineered (GE) foods are in most cases 'the
same as or substantially similar to substances commonly found in
food' and thus are not required to undergo specific safety tests
prior to entering the market.
The FDA has refused to require labeling of genetically
engineered foods, despite overwhelming American support for
mandatory labeling. Since the agency has refused to protect
consumers, some food companies are now taking action by labeling
certain products or ingredients "non-gmo", which means "made
without genetically modified organisms".
The U. S. may soon be the only country in the world which does
NOT require labeling of genetically engineered food.
• Australia, July 2000, passed legislation requiring the
labeling of genetically engineered foods.
• The European Union, in September 1998, passed legislation
requiring the labeling of genetically engineered foods.
• Japan passed legislation to require labeling of genetically
engineered foods in April 2000, which went into effect in 2001.
• The Russian government requires labeling of genetically
engineered foods as of January 2000.
• Hong Kong has legislation requiring labeling of genetically
engineered foods which was overwhelmingly approved by
Legislative Council in January 2000.
• South Korea has legislation requiring labeling of genetically
engineered foods which went into effect in 2001. So does Taiwan.
There are 2 main categories of genetically engineered crops now
on the market: "Insect Resistant" and "Herbicide Tolerant".
Herbicide Tolerant crops (which include corn, cotton, soybeans,
sugar beet and canola) are crops which are genetically
engineered to withstand direct application of herbicides. These
herbicides would kill natural crop plants, but farmers are now
able to spray weed killers directly onto genetically engineered
herbicide-tolerant varieties. This could mean more chemicals
onto our food and in our environment. About 70% of genetically
engineered crops growing in the United States today are
herbicide-tolerant varieties.
Insect Resistant crops (which include corn, cotton and potatoes)
are also called 'plant pesticides', because the plant itself is
a pesticide. As it grows, the plant produces an insecticide,
killing insects when they feed on the crop. Industry claims that
these genetically engineered crops will mean that fewer chemical
insecticides are sprayed.
What are the potential dangers of genetically modified foods?
Genetically engineered products clearly have the potential to be
toxic and a threat to human health. In 1989, a genetically
engineered brand of L-tryptophan, a common dietary supplement,
killed 37 Americans and permanently disabled or afflicted more
than 5,000 others with a painful and potentially fatal blood
disorder, eosinophilia myalgia syndrome (EMS), before it was
recalled by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The manufacturer, Showa Denko, Japan's 3rd largest chemical
company, had for the first time in 1989 used genetically
engineered bacteria to produce the over-the-counter supplement.
It is believed that the bacteria somehow became contaminated
during the recombinant DNA process. Showa Denko has already paid
out over $2 billion in damages to EMS victims.
Dr. Arpad Pusztai on genetically modified foods
In 1999, front-page headline stories in the British press
revealed Rowett Institute scientist Dr. Arpad Pusztai's
explosive research findings that genetically engineered
potatoes, spliced with DNA from the snowdrop plant and a
commonly used viral promoter, the Cauliflower Mosaic Virus (CaMv),
are poisonous to mammals. Genetically engineered-snowdrop
potatoes, found to be significantly different in chemical
composition from regular potatoes, damaged the vital organs and
immune systems of lab rats which were fed the genetically
engineered potatoes.
Most alarming of all, damage to the rats' stomach linings -
apparently a severe viral infection - most likely was caused by
the CaMv viral promoter, a promoter spliced into nearly all
genetically engineered foods and crops.
In August 1998, Dr. Pusztai appeared on the British television
program 'The World in Action' to report the findings of his
study. In an attempt to appease the resulting public furor,
Rowett Institute director Philip James (who had approved Dr.
Pusztai's television appearance) said the research didn't exist.
He fired Dr. Pusztai, broke up his research team, seized the
data, and halted 6 other similar projects.
It later became known that Monsanto, a leading U.S. biotech
firm, had given the Rowett Institute a $224,000 grant prior to
Dr. Pusztai's interview and subsequent firing.
Evidence emerged which supports the legitimacy of Dr. Pusztai's
research. The research that James claimed did not exist showed
up during an internal audit. Later, 'Lancet', the prestigious
British medical journal, published a peer-reviewed paper which
Dr. Pusztai had co-authored supporting the research.
Prince Charles began to question the safety of genetically
engineered foods on his website and became allies with Dr.
Pusztai. Charles wrote an article in the 'Daily Mail' expressing
concerns over the lack of safety research on genetically
engineered foods.
The U.S. media has not covered the disturbing public health
questions raised by Dr. Arpad Pusztai's research into
genetically engineered potatoes. Genetic engineering continues
to receive a clean bill of health by United States' regulatory
agencies despite the fact that no independent,
government-supported research has been or is being conducted
into the effects of genetically engineered foods on mammals .
This is in large part due to the fact that the biotech industry
has a sophisticated public relations apparatus in place which
has so far successfully been able to spin the industry's line
that genetically altered food is absolutely safe. To better
understand how public relations firms shape the public's
awareness and beliefs, read the "Why you believe what you
believe" page.
Perhaps the most important event in the last few years was the
contamination of the food supply with the unapproved genetically
engineered StarLink corn. The corn had been approved by the
Environmental Protection Agency for consumption by animals but
not humans, because of concerns that it may cause allergic
reactions.
The StarLink discovery by a coalition of advocacy groups has
resulted in approximately 300 food products being recalled, mass
litigation within the agriculture community, and drops in
exports to key markets. StarLink has also raised questions about
the United States' regulatory system, and at the end of 2000,
several bills in Congress were proposing major changes in the
way U.S. agencies regulate these crops.
Monsanto's recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone
Over 70 million acres of genetically engineered crops are
presently under cultivation in the United States, while up to
500,000 dairy cows are being injected regularly with Monsanto's
recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone, known as "rBGH".
In 1994, the Food and Drug Administration approved the sale of
Monsanto's controversial genetically engineered recombinant
Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH) - injected into dairy cows to force
them to produce more milk - even though scientists warned that
significantly higher levels (500% or more) of a potent hormone,
Insulin-Like Growth Factor (IGF-1), in the milk and dairy
products of injected cows, could pose serious hazards for human
prostate, breast, and colon cancer.
A number of studies have shown that humans with elevated levels
of IGF-1 in their bodies are much more likely to get cancer. In
addition, the U.S. Congressional watchdog agency, the GAO, told
the Food and Drug Administration not to approve rBGH, arguing
that increased antibiotic residues in the milk of rBGH-injected
cows (resulting from higher rates of udder infections requiring
antibiotic treatment) posed an unacceptable risk for public
health.
In 1998, never-before disclosed Monsanto/FDA documents were
released by government scientists in Canada, showing damage to
laboratory rats fed dosages of rBGH. Significant infiltration of
rBGH into the prostate of the rats as well as thyroid cysts
indicated potential cancer hazards from the drug. Subsequently
the government of Canada banned rBGH in early 1999. The European
Union has had a ban in place since 1994.
Primarily because of scientific concerns that it is a cancer
hazard and likely to cause increased antibiotic residues in
milk, rBGH is banned in every industrialized country except in
the United States.
Genetically modified foods and your health
There may be nothing wrong with them, but it would seem the
better side of prudence to limit your exposure to them. They
were not designed with your health in mind.

Viral Triggering-Virus Spraying on Food
National Vaccine Information Center Newsletter
Consumers won't be aware that meat and poultry products have
been treated with the spray, Zajac added. The Department of
Agriculture will regulate the actual use of the product. The
viruses are grown in a preparation of the very bacteria they
kill, and then purified. The FDA had concerns that the virus
preparation potentially could contain toxic residues associated
with the bacteria. However, testing did not reveal the presence
of such residues, which in small quantities likely wouldn't
cause health problems anyway, the FDA said." -
Associated Press, Aug. 18, 2006
In yet another stunning demonstration of callous disregard for
the health of American citizens, a pathetically weak and useless
Food and Drug Administration has given the green light to
industry microbe hunters to spray cold cuts, poultry and other
meats with a mix of viruses that are supposed to eat bacteria
contaminating the meat without hurting anyone in the process.
And the best part? Meat producers won't have to tell consumers
which meats have been bathed in the viruses so everyone gets a
dose eating a hot dog at a baseball game or frying up some ham
and eggs for breakfast whether they want it or not. And when
Uncle Leo in the Bronx drops dead from a mysterious infection
after eating an Italian sub at a neighborhood picnic, the story
will be: it wasn't the virus infected sausage that did it, it
was - A COINCIDENCE.

Viral Triggering-Chlorine In Water
Cancer & Chlorine
Is the chlorine in our
drinking water acting as catalyst triggering tumor development
both in atherosclerosis and cancer? The addition of chlorine to
our drinking water started in the late 1890’s and had wide
acceptance in the United States by 1920. Joseph Price, M. D,
wrote a fascinating yet largely ignored book in the late 1960’s,
entitled Coronaries Cholesterol. Chlorine, Dr Price believes, is
the primary and essential cause of atherosclerosis is chlorine.
"Nothing can negate the incontrovertible fact the basic cause of
atherosclerosis and resulting entities, such as heart attacks
and most common forms of stokes is chlorine. The chlorine
contained in processed drinking water." (1)
This conclusion is based on experiments using chlorine in the
drinking water of chickens. The results: 95% of the chickens
given chlorine added to distilled water developed
atherosclerosis within a few months.
Atherosclerosis, heart attacks and the resulting problems of
hardening of the arteries and plaque formation is really the
last step in a series of biochemical malfunctions. Price points
out it takes ten to twenty years before symptoms in humans
become evident In many ways, this is reminiscent of cancer which
can take twenty to thirty years to develop.
Can chlorine be linked to cancer too? In the chlorination
process itself, chlorine combines with natural organic matter
decaying vegetation to form potent cancer causing
trihalomethanes (THM’s) or haloforms. Trihalomethanes
collectively include such carcinogens as chloroforms, bromoforms
carbon tectachloride, bischlorothane and others. The amount of
THM’s in our drinking water is theoretically regulated by the
EPA. Although the maximum amount allowed by law is 100 ppb, a
1976 study showed 31 of 112 municipal water systems exceeded
this limit. (2)
According to some studies by 1975, the number of chemical
contaminants found in finished drinking water exceeded 300. (3)
In 1984 over 700 chemicals had been found in our drinking water
The EPA has targeted 129 as posing the greatest threat to our
health, Currently the EPA enforces federal standards for 34
drinking water contaminants. In July, 1990 they proposed adding
23 new ones and expects this list increasing to 85 in 1992. (4)
Another report claims the picture is much worse. According to
Troubled Waters on Tap "over 2100 contaminants have been
detected in U. S. drinking water since 1974 with 190 known or
suspected to cause adverse health effects at certain
concentration levels. In total, 97 carcinogens and suspected
carcinogens, 82 mutagens and suspected mutagens, 28 acute and
chronic toxic contaminants and 23 tumor promoters have been
detected in U. S. drinking water since 1974. The remaining 90%
of the organic matter present in drinking water has not been
identified by testing to-date.
Compounds in these concentration could pose serious toxic
effects, either alone or in combination with other chemicals
found in drinking water. Overall, available scientific evidence
continues to substantiate the link between consumption of toxins
in drinking water and serious public health concerns, Studies
have strengthened the association between ingestion of toxins
and elevated cancer mortality risks"(5)
Studies in New Orleans, Louisiana; Eric County, New York,
Washington County Maryland, Ohio County, Ohio reveal high levels
of haloforms or THM ‘s in drinking water The result – higher
levels of cancer. (6) (7) (8) (9)
‘The continued use of chlorine as the main drinking water
disinfectant in the United States only adds to the organic
chemical contamination of drinking water supplies. The current
federal standard regulation of trihalomethanes do not adequately
protect water consumers from the multitude of other organic
chlorination by-products that have been shown in many studies to
be mutagenic and toxic’(5)
"Chlorine is so dangerous" according to biologist/chemist Dr.
Herbert Schwartz," that Is should be banned. Putting chlorine in
the water is like starting a time bomb. Cancer heart trouble,
premature senility, both mental and physical are conditions
attributable to chlorine, treated water supplies. It is making
us grow old before our time by producing symptoms of ageing such
as hardening of the arteries. I believe if chlorine were now
proposed for the first time to be used in drinking water it
would be banned by the Food and Drug Administration."(10)
How can chlorination be linked to heart disease and cancer? In
Super Nutrition for Healthy Hearts Dr Richard Passwater shows
how "the origin of heart disease is akin to the origin of
cancer" Chlorination could very well be a key factor linking
these two major diseases Chlorine creates THM's and haloforms.
These potent chemical pollutants can trigger the production of
excess free radicals in our bodies. Free radicals cause cell
damage. Excess free radicals can cause normal smooth muscle
cells in the arterial wall to go haywire, to mutate. The fibrous
plaque consequently formed is essentially a benign tumor. (11)
Unfortunately, this tumor is linked with the origin of heart
disease.
If your drinking water is chlorinated, don’t drink it You can
purchase very effective filters which will remove 99% of the
THM’s or purchase proper bottled spring water. Just this simple
safeguard may save thousands from heart disease and cancer - the
two major degenerative killers in the United States.

Cellular Phones
The number of people using cellular telephones has risen
dramatically during the past decade, and is expected to continue
increasing. According to the Cellular Telecommunications
Industry Association (CTIA), there are currently (2002) over 110
million wireless telephone users in the United States. This
number is increasing at a rate of about 46,000 new subscribers
per day. Experts estimate that by 2005 there will be over 1.26
billion wireless telephone users worldwide. A study by
scientists in Finland has found that mobile phone radiation can
cause changes in human cells that might affect the brain. The
study at Finland's Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority found
that exposure to radiation from mobile phones can cause
increased activity in hundreds of proteins in human cells grown
in a laboratory. Nonetheless the study, the initial findings of
which were published June 2002, in the scientific journal
Differentiation, raises new questions about whether mobile phone
radiation can weaken the brain's protective shield against
harmful substances. The study focused on changes in cells that
line blood vessels and on whether such changes could weaken the
functioning of the blood-brain barrier, which prevents
potentially harmful substances from entering the brain from the
bloodstream.
Drug Toxins
One of the largest sources of body toxins is the prescription
drugs people take to supposedly fight disease. Medicinal drugs
are very strong--they have to be to overcome the body's natural
defense system. When such drugs are taken, they must either be
eliminated from the body or stored within for later elimination.
When drugs are discontinued, the old toxins may enter the
bloodstream for elimination. The circulation of these old drug
toxins in the system may produce bewildering symptoms that can
be alarming. As drugs leave the body, you can taste them in your
mouth. Every drug used, whether legal or illegal, leaves its
mark upon the body. As the body regains health, the drug
deposits are put into circulation for elimination.
Old drugs that were taken, even many years ago, may reappear in
the bloodstream as they leave fat tissue and the organs. Since a
combination of past drug deposits may enter the bloodstream at
once, disconcerting symptoms may arise. Drug toxin elimination
may express itself in a series of rashes as they leave the body
through the skin. Drug detoxification can be a lengthy process,
but juicing and a diet high in fruits and green leafy vegetables
and bitter-greens aid it.
Caffeine and Nicotine
Heavy smokers or coffee drinkers may experience similar symptoms
when they withdraw from their drug. Nervous irritability and
emotional outbreaks are common symptoms of these drug addicts
when they are detoxifying. Nicotine and caffeine damage the
nervous system and upset the vascular system, so symptoms such
as headaches, edginess, extreme lassitude or mental cloudiness
(feeling spaced out) are expected. Such symptoms from these
drugs usually lessen after three to ten days.
Salt and Other Condiments
Once processed salt is stopped and the proper version is used,
old salt deposits in the body exit through the skin and kidneys.
Sometimes the elimination is so intense that a person may have a
continual salty taste in the mouth.
White Sugar
Eliminating sugar from the diet may make a person feel slightly
nervous and hyperactive until the energy levels adjust to a
raw-food diet. Mood changes, however, are usually more
noticeable than any physical symptoms when sugar is eliminated.
Reformed sugar addicts may feel periods of unaccountable
depression as their blood sugar level tries to right itself.
Getting off the sugar roller coaster, with its rapid rises and
falls in blood sugar levels, is easier when a raw-food diet high
in salads and avocados is followed.
Heavy Metals
Deposits of heavy metals in the body poison almost everyone.
Lead, aluminum, mercury, copper, cadmium, and arsenic collect in
organs throughout the body. Because of their heavy weight, they
are difficult to eliminate, and may cause discomfort as they
leave the body. As these metals come out, headaches and a
general achiness all through the body may occur. The gums may
hurt and the kidneys may throb as these metals leave the organs
and bones. Heavy metal poisoning can make you feel uncomfortable
all over, and it is very common, due to all the environmental
toxins and the amalgam fillings put into people's teeth. As you
eliminate these metals, if you can bear the uncomfortable body
aches and realize that they are leaving your body forever, it
will help you go through it more gracefully.
Vaccinations
Vaccines contain substances poisonous to humans (i.e. mercury,
formaldehyde, aluminum, etc.) Vaccine package inserts contain
this and other information required by law to be disclosed to
the public. Although these inserts are produced for consumers,
doctors do not make them available to their patients.
Work Environments
A major cause of indoor illnesses is contact with bacteria,
fungi, viruses, dust mites, insect parts and biological
contaminates collecting within the fibers of panel fabric.
Contaminants that affect us outside are transported to our
indoor environments. The result is a higher and more dangerous
concentration due to the "trapping" of these contaminants within
the confines of the structure.
Pollutants from vehicles, pipe vents and building exhausts are
transported through airways.
Viral Contamination-Dental
Many people today suffer from what is often broadly referred to
as "heavy metal toxicity." The most common source of toxicity is
mercury from dental fillings. When the so-called "silver"
fillings are put in the teeth, they are roughly 49-53% mercury.
In other words, the filling is an amalgam that contains some
silver as well as what is for some people a lethal amount of
mercury. To determine the extent of possible mercury poisoning,
studies were conducted on sheep. The fillings were removed after
six months and found to contain only about a fifth of the
mercury that was present when the fillings were first put into
the teeth. The rest of the mercury had been leeched into the
system and was found in significant concentrations in the brain
and small intestines, though the liver, kidneys and lungs were
also impacted by the mercury.
In environmentally conscious dentistry, mercury is disposed of
as a hazardous waste. In some countries, such as Germany and
Sweden, the governments are paying for mercury removal; however,
in the United States, the American Dental Association, Federal
Government, and suppliers of amalgam dental materials insist
that mercury is safe and that it poses no health risks . . .
except, it seems, for Duluth, Minnesota, where mercury amalgams
are prohibited.
Basically, insistence on the safety of amalgams is not just
nonsense, but criminally irresponsible. For many people, mercury
is a very significant cause of ill health. Symptoms range from
muscle spasms to severe neurological problems such as paralysis
and memory loss. For years, many people have been going through
the quite expensive procedure of having amalgam fillings
replaced with more stable and less toxic dental materials and
following this ordeal with various types of also expensive
chelation using intravenous vitamins and sometimes other
substances.
